Revocable Living Trusts.  Brad drafts simple Revocable Living Trusts to eliminate the requirement of Probating a Will and to protect the privacy of your Estate.  A Revocable Living Trust may include provisions for minor children so that they do not inherit his or her share of your estate at an immature age.  A trust can be used to provide for their education, health care, and other needs whether ordinary or extraordinary, until he or she reaches an appropriate age to receive the inheritance.

Powers of Attorney for Property.  Plan for the day when you may not be able to make decisions for yourself.  You can appoint an agent in a Power of Attorney for Property to authorize someone to handle your financial affairs if you are unable to do so.  If you do not have a Power of Attorney for Property and you cannot manage your financial affairs, then it may be necessary for a family member, friend, or even a stranger to go to court on your behalf to be appointed as your Guardian to manage your financial affairs.

Powers of Attorney for Health Care.  You can appoint an agent in a Power of Attorney for Health Care to make health and medical decisions.  The Power of Attorney also includes your directives regarding life support.   If you do not have a Power of Attorney for Health Care and you are unable to manage your health care, it may be necessary for a family member, friend, or even a stranger to go to court on your behalf to be appointed as your Guardian to manage your health care.

Guardian.  If you need to assist a loved one who is no longer able to manage his or her financial affairs or health care needs, Brad has experience in helping set up both a Guardian of the Person, to obtain authority to care for your loved one, and a Guardian of the Estate, to gain authority to manage financial affairs.

PERSONAL INJURY

If you are hurt in an auto accident or you are hurt at work you may have a right to recover damages for your injury.  Brad will assist you in recovering damages from the party responsible for your injury.  A final resolution of your personal injury claim can be a long and complicated process, even if you reach a settlement with the responsible party.   Claims against your settlement can be made by health care providers, your health insurance company, and your own auto insurance company.  If you can’t reach an amicable settlement of your issues, you need experienced legal assistance to protect your rights.
